Day 4, the closing day of BFW 2016 was upon us in not time. Designer Sameena Parveen drew her inspiration from the Persian culture and showcased her collection, Sabah – Timeless Trousseaus*. It was a fusion of Persian and Mughal era featuring brights, lights and dark hues along with textures ranging from crepe, georgette silks, raw silk to velvets. The use of zardosi work and pearls were apt to the era the collection symbolizes. The entire set up and choreography transported us to an era that depicts richness, beautiful monuments and elaborate rituals.
In my brief chat with Sameena, she mentioned that, as a little girl, she used to dress up her mom as Noor Jahan by pinning her dupatta a certain way and styling her accordingly. These are the kind of clothes she always wanted to design and they are perfect for the upcoming festive and wedding season.
Next up was the grand finale of BFW 2016 – Archana Kochhar and her collection, Gardens of Eve*. The theme was very victorian and drew inspiration from the gardens of 14th and 15th century. The collection featured extremely beautiful digital prints that were off set by stripes and pastels. The use of 3D flowers and pearls offered the vintage touch she was going for. It was a beautiful show that was choreographed extremely well. The show began with an oomph factor and concluded with Daisy Shah take the stage for Archana. The long wait was well worth it!
I just can’t stop thinking about this dreamy collection. What do you guys think?
Until I talk to you again, stay glamorous!
