In this blog post that I wrote almost four years ago, I talked about adopting a few beauty rituals to take better care of my skin and hair.
One of the things I was particularly focused on was taking better care of my under-eye area.
I was obsessed with finding a perfect eye cream for my under-eye area.
I finally think I found THE one 🙂
This is a detailed review of the Innisfree Orchid Eye Cream.
Please read on to learn how this eye cream fared during my testing phase and beyond.
But before I dive into the Innisfree Orchid Eye Cream review, I wanted to take a moment to talk about the importance of eye cream in your skincare routine.
Why is An Eye Cream Important?
There has been a lot of debate about the importance of eye cream in the beauty industry. Professionals in the beauty space tend to have polarized opinions on this matter. Some of them blatantly dismiss its mere existence while others continue to champion adapting an eye cream into your beauty routine as early as you can.
Why should one even bother using an eye cream you might ask. I had the same question for many years.
I have swayed between these two opposing opinions for a while.
Over the years, I have come to realize that I enjoy including a good eye cream in my skincare routine.
It is a fact that the skin under your eye is thin, delicate, and needs extra care.
It is believed that eye creams are specifically formulated to cater to the needs of your skin in this part of your face.
It is important to keep your under-eye area hydrated and well-nourished.
The first signs of aging appear around the eye area. I personally believe that taking better care of your eye region will allow you to proactively delay any appearance of fine lines, crow’s feet, dryness, dark circles, and other under-eye issues.
Packaging
As you can see in the picture, the Innisfree Orchid Eye Cream comes in a cute 30 ml purple tub with a screw-on lid. It is sturdy and travel-friendly. The lid screws on and off without any hassle. The air-tight packaging ensures that the ingredients remain fresh.
Formula
The formula of this eye cream is the main reason I fell in love with the product. It isn’t too thick or too light. It is a perfect balance between a rich, heavy consistency and a light, gel-like texture. It evenly spreads out without having to try too hard.
I remember trying Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment, a cult favorite, a few years ago. It was too thick for liking. But the Orchid Eye Cream has the perfect texture. The best part about the formula is this cream’s smell. It has a very pleasant, soothing smell. The very first whiff of mild fragrance, makes you want to smell this cream over and over again. Overall, the formula feels luxurious.
Performance
When I started using this eye cream, my main concern was dryness. This product fixed that issue in just a few uses. In addition to that, it also reduced puffiness under the eyes. I don’t have dark circles, per se, so I can’t comment on how it would perform in that regard.
Some of the eye creams that I have used in the past tend to irritate my eyes. Fortunately, I had no such issues with this cream. With prolonged use, I noticed that the area around my eyes was extremely well-hydrated and the texture of my skin has improved significantly.
Usage Directions
As per the directions on the package, apply an appropriate amount onto the eye area by lifting and patting along the eye area.
I personally use a pea-sized amount on either side and use my ring finger to gently tap and spread the product along my orbital bone. I then carry over any leftover product to the inner corner of my eye.
Availability and Price
The Innisfree Orchid Eye Cream is priced at Rs. 2000/- and is available at Nykaa and Innisfree stores.
I usually pick this up whenever there is a sale going on. The last time I bought this at the Innisfree store, I got 10% off on MRP.
Final Thoughts
I have used a handful of under-eye creams over the years but I haven’t found one that I enjoyed using as much as I enjoy using this product. It has simple ingredients and delivers on the promise of an effective under-eye cream. If you are in the market for a good eye cream, then look no further. I have thoroughly enjoyed using this product and I can confidently recommend this to anyone irrespective of their skin type or concerns.
